Generalised Bianchi permutability for isothermic surfaces

چکیده
Abstract Isothermic surfaces are which allow a conformal curvature line parametrisation. They form an integrable system, and Darboux transforms of isothermic obey Bianchi permutability: for two distinct spectral parameters, the corresponding have common transform can be computed algebraically. In this paper, we discuss two-step with same parameter, show that these obtained by Sym-type construction: All surface given, without further integration, parallel sections associated family surface, either algebraically or differentiation against parameter.

The Bianchi–darboux Transform of L-isothermic Surfaces
Certain types of integrable non-linear PDEs (soliton equations) arise in differential geometry as compatibility conditions for the linear equations obeyed by frames adapted to surfaces in higher dimensional manifolds. In a number of situations, the construction of new solutions of the arising PDE relies on the existence of Bäcklund type transformations for the surfaces and on their permutabilit...
متن کاملIsothermic Surfaces and Hopf Cylinders
Based on the work of Pinkall, characterizations of spherical curves are given whose corresponding Hopf cylinders are isothermic surfaces in the threedimensional sphere. Comparing these characterizations with results of Langer and Singer about elastic spherical curves we determine all isothermic Willmore Hopf tori.
متن کاملSpecial Isothermic Surfaces and Solitons
We establish a correspondence between Darboux’s special isothermic surfaces of type (A, 0, C, D) and the solutions of the second order p.d.e. Φ∆Φ − |∇Φ| + Φ = s, s ∈ R. We then use the classical Darboux transformation for isothermic surfaces to construct a Bäcklund transformation for this equation and prove a superposition formula for its solutions. As an application we discuss 1 and 2-soliton ...
متن کاملStationary Isothermic Surfaces for Unbounded Domains
The initial temperature of a heat conductor is zero and its boundary temperature is kept equal to one at each time. The conductor contains a stationary isothermic surface, that is, an invariant spatial level surface of the temperature. In a previous paper, we proved that, if the conductor is bounded, then it must be a ball. Here, we prove that the boundary of the conductor is either a hyperplan...
متن کاملStationary Isothermic Surfaces and Uniformly Dense Domains
We establish a relationship between stationary isothermic surfaces and uniformly dense domains. A stationary isothermic surface is a level surface of temperature which does not evolve with time. A domain Ω in the Ndimensional Euclidean space RN is said to be uniformly dense in a surface Γ ⊂ RN of codimension 1 if, for every small r > 0, the volume of the intersection of Ω with a ball of radius ...
